I’m delighted to announce that Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County has received a transformative, unrestricted donation from American author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott in the amount of $5.75 million.
A total of $436 million is being dispersed among Habitat for Humanity International and 84 specific affiliates within the U.S. network. Read our news release to learn more.
We are honored and deeply grateful to Ms. Scott. This is the single largest donation that we have ever received. The gift will have an exponential impact on our community, and the benefits will ripple across Central Florida for generations. It will be a force multiplier as we find solutions to the wicked problem of affordable housing and advocate for fair-housing policies.
Scott has said she and her advisers select nonprofits that have a track record of carrying out their missions successfully. It is because of your tireless support and passion for our mission that we were selected for this gift.
I’m proud that you’re on this journey with us as we grow and continue to transform the lives of local families.
Warm regards,
Catherine Steck McManus
