We recently celebrated one of our newest homeowners in Orange County by hosting a ribbon cutting and home dedication ceremony in partnership with Publix Super Market Charities.
Leaders from Habitat Orlando & Osceola and Publix Charities joined the homeowner, Necach, as they cut the ribbon on his home, which was sponsored by Publix Charities.
“Affordable and stable housing is not just about shelter—it’s the foundation for thriving individuals, families, and communities,” said Catherine Steck McManus, president & CEO, Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County. “We are grateful for the support of our partners like Publix Super Markets Charities that help us make homeownership a possibility for more of our neighbors in Central Florida.”
The event marked the culmination of Necach’s homeownership journey and recognized Publix Charities’ longstanding support of Habitat Orlando & Osceola over the past 25-plus years to pioneer housing solutions in Central Florida.
“We’re proud to continue our decades-long support of Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County by sponsoring this brand new, affordable home in our community,” said Publix Charities Executive Director John Doran. “Through this work, we’re continuing Publix founder George Jenkins’ legacy by doing good, together.”
Homeowner Necach, who works as a nurse, said closing on the purchase of his home with an affordable mortgage marked a milestone in providing a foundation for his future. Every day, Habitat Orlando & Osceola partners with Central Floridians like Necach who are the backbone of our economy – nurses, teachers, mail carriers and firefighters – but struggle to find affordable housing.
