1. We appreciate that TD Charitable Foundation is a supporter of Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s Education and Housing Counseling program – what drove your organization to get involved?
TD Charitable Foundation has been a longtime supporter of programs that help strengthen communities with solutions that preserve, rehabilitate and create safe and stable rental and owned housing. Education and housing counseling is part of this process and with many Central Floridians facing barriers to housing stability and homeownership, the free programming that Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County provides is a great way for individuals or families interested in purchasing home to be better informed and prepared.
2. What is TD Charitable Foundation’s mission when it comes to philanthropy? How does working with Habitat Orlando & Osceola help further that mission?
TD Charitable Foundation’s mission is to support, respect and improve the quality of life in the diverse communities we serve. We support numerous types of programming with an emphasis on affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County has various programs that help individuals to become more informed about homeownership, become actual homeowners or rehabilitate homes so that individuals can maintain their housing and all of these programs align well with TD Charitable Foundation’s philanthropic focus.
3. What would you say to other organizations considering donating, volunteering, or partnering with Habitat Orlando & Osceola?
There is an affordable housing crisis in many areas across the country and that includes Central Florida. Habitat Orlando & Osceola has a variety of program offerings that can help individuals start their journey to homeownership to becoming a homeowner and even helping to preserve homes so individuals can stay safely housed. There are plenty of ways that your support can be utilized to help individuals feel safe and more stable.
