For Orlando nurse Necach, purchasing his own home from Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County is the next step toward building a stable foundation for his future.
Necach says he doesn’t know what that future will hold, but he does know that he’s doing all he can to set himself up for success. He’s finishing up his graduate degree and planting roots in a community he cares about.
“Home means stability and roots in a place I’ve chosen for myself. Having moved to Central Florida and built a life here on my own, apart from my parents in South Florida and my brother nearby, home represents independence and the next chapter of a story that’s still being written,” Necach said.
Necach’s parents, as well as his brother, joined him to celebrate him closing on the purchase of his home in August.
Necach, whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from Honduras, originally moved to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida. From there, he obtained his registered nurse license and earned a job in healthcare where he enjoys being a positive light in his patients’ darker times. He said he finds inspiration and purpose from his family’s journey.
“This investment in homeownership feels like a way to honor that journey while creating something lasting,” he said.
Necach said before finding Habitat Orlando & Osceola, he was frustrated with the cost and uncertainty that came from apartment rentals. His parents were in his corner, encouraging him to pursue homeownership.
“My journey feels as though it is just beginning,” he said. “Relocating to Central Florida, pursuing my degree, and the unwavering encouragement of my family have collectively brought me to this moment in my path toward homeownership.”

Necach found that foundation for himself when he closed on the purchase of his home, which was sponsored by Publix Super Market Charities, in August. He said the milestone serves as a landmark moment in his ongoing journey.
“I’ll keep working hard to maintain this home, adding personal touches over time to make it feel like mine,” he said. “…This new responsibility gives me a real sense of drive to keep working toward my goals.”
