Home for the Holidays 2024

Williams Company joined us for the fifth time for a holiday-themed ProBuild. This year, they built two homes, one in Orlando’s Holden Heights neighborhood and another in Kissimmee in Osceola County, that local families will purchase with affordable mortgages.

We’re so grateful to Williams Company, who along with their subcontractors and vendors, donated the labor and materials to build these homes.

This was also our first official Habitat home built in Kissimmee and Osceola County!

Osceola County: Gloria & Francisco

Gloria, who lives in an Orlando rental with her husband, Francisco, and their three children, will own the first home ever built in Kissimmee and Osceola County by Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County.

Gloria said the home will provide the stable foundation and sense of community her family has craved since they moved from New York to Orlando five years ago.

“My family motivates me to do better every day and to work hard so they can live a better life,” she said.

Orange County: Stephanie

Stephanie knows her son and granddaughter are watching her everyday as she goes off to work and diligently manages her budget saving up to purchase their future home.

Stephanie, who works for a local school district and at a large retail store, said it’s important to her to set an example for them, to let them know if she can reach milestones like homeownership, someday they can too.

“I work very hard, and if they’re seeing what I’m achieving, they’re going to know that if they do it, it can happen for them too,” she said.

Supporter Spotlight: Williams Company

Williams Company has joined us since 2020 for Home for the Holidays, a two-week home build in November/December.

We are honored to provide families an opportunity to own a home and contribute our professional talents to help build these homes,” said Matt Olberding, Divisional Manager for Williams Company. “It takes the support of many companies to build a home, and we are fortunate to have dependable subcontractors and vendors that share common philanthropic goals.”

2023: Joselyn

Joselyn is a mother of two who works in records retrieval for a local cancer institute. She and her late husband had a shared dream of buying a home for their family.

Joselyn hopes that becoming a homeowner will also open doors of opportunity for her kids.

“Definitely stability and letting them know that if Mom did it, we can do it,” she said.

2022: Ebony

Ebony has lived in the same condominium for the last 10 years.

This past year, she got a renewal notice that showed a $400 hike — a 33% increase.

“I looked into homeownership for the stability because when you’re renting, they can just increase it how they want to, when they want to,” she said.

2021: Shuprina

Throughout Shuprina’s homeownership journey, her three children have watched her overcome obstacles and make many sacrifices. She hopes that it has shown her children that anything is possible.

“You can do it … if you want a home, you can get the home through hard work and sacrifice,” she said.

2020: Venessa & Dominique

Venessa cried after learning she and her husband, Dominique, were accepted into Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County’s homeownership program.

The couple spent many years searching for safe, affordable housing for their family. “We thought it was time for our family to have a home,” Venessa said.
