The Cornerstone Housing® Initiative
The Florida Community Progress Index™
Tracking neighborhood progress in Central Florida
Measuring What Matters
Are Central Floridians facing more or fewer barriers to success?
How do nonprofits know where to target limited resources?
How can government, nonprofits, and foundations track the impact of their programs?
Under Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County’s Cornerstone Housing® initiative, the Florida Community Progress Index™ (FCPI™) helps Central Florida leaders measure what matters–peoples’ outcomes in health, education, housing, safety, and environmental quality–at the neighborhood level.
Explore the Data
The Florida Community Progress Index™ (FCPI™) provides a snapshot of the state of community development in Central Florida. Ranging from 0 to 100, an index value is calculated for every neighborhood (census tract) in Orange and Osceola County.

About the FCPI™
The FCPI™ captures outcomes in housing, health, education, safety, environmental quality, and more.
Nonprofit service providers, foundations and donors, governments, and community leaders need a way to measure and track progress in the communities they serve. This is why Habitat Orlando & Osceola, in partnership with the Social Progress Imperative, created the FCPI™.
Index Metrics
Based on 40-plus metrics, broken into 12 categories, the FCPI offers one overall index value to baseline and track a neighborhood’s progress. Deeper insights into the drivers of community progress can be gleaned by diving into the individual metrics that make up the index. Click on the headings below to further explore these index metrics.
