Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County is pleased to announce Robert F. Stuart Jr., senior government affairs advisor at GrayRobinson and longtime community leader, as the new chair of its board of directors.
Stuart brings extensive experience in public policy, government affairs, and community service to the role. A seasoned advisor with more than 15 years in private practice, he has built strong relationships with elected officials statewide and has significant experience in local and state policymaking.
Born and raised in the Orlando area, Stuart has deep roots in the community and a longstanding commitment to public service. He joined the Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County board in 2022 and is an active advocate for expanding affordable housing opportunities across Central Florida.
“We are thrilled to welcome Robert as our new board chair,” said Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County President & CEO Catherine Steck McManus. “His passion for service and his expertise navigating local and state government will be invaluable as we continue our work to transform communities in Central Florida.”
As board chair, Stuart will guide the organization’s strategic direction and support its mission of pioneering innovative housing solutions, empowering individuals through knowledge, and transforming communities by addressing the root causes of the housing crisis.
“I am honored and humbled by the trust and support of my fellow board members to serve as their chair,” said Stuart. “The work of Habitat is critical not only to the families and clients we serve, but to our entire community. Beyond the homes we build, our Habitat affiliate is deeply engaged in housing counseling, roof repair, research, and data-driven advocacy that is poised to lead Central Florida and our state as we – together – face the housing crisis. I could not be more excited for, and inspired by, the work ahead of us – working hand-in-hand with our CEO Catherine Steck McManus, our amazing professional staff, and the dynamic and visionary volunteer leaders that make up our exemplary board.”
Stuart succeeds Pete Barr Jr., the president & CEO of &Barr, who served as board chair from 2020 to 2025.
