Lavonne had nearly accustomed herself to the idea of being a lifelong renter after years of being turned down for
homes and homebuyer assistance – until she received some encouragement from family to apply to Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County.
Janessa is clear on one thing: her journey to affordable homeownership is for her children. And she knows it’s about more than owning a home.
“When I look out my kitchen window now, I can say, ‘Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus,’” Rhonza said. “I just get tears in my eyes.”
Thanks to a partnership with the City of Kissimmee and Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County, Vivian got a first look at her reconstructed home with family members, city and Habitat staff, and media on July 18.
