Fallon always imagined she and her husband would purchase a house together for their children to call home. But that vision of the future fractured when her husband unexpectedly passed away, leaving her to provide for their two daughters on her own.

“Becoming a single parent was not in the plans, yet it instantly became a reality,” Fallon said. “It has been a journey of growth, resilience, and learning while raising my two beautiful daughters and navigating grief.”

In the wake of immense loss, Fallon said she had to trust God, pick herself up, and keep moving forward for her family. She paid off her debt, worked on her credit score, and changed careers to help save money for her closing costs. She now works as a claims adjuster, helping others navigate their own tough times.

Then the next step in her journey was applying to purchase a home through Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County.

“It hasn’t been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it,” she said. “Owning a home has always been a dream of mine, a place my daughters can call their forever home.”

She said their new home, built by Walker & Company during Builders Blitz 2026 in the Holden Heights neighborhood, will provide a “sweet escape” where her family can find peace, comfort and serenity. She’s excited to have a place for family gatherings and Sunday dinners where they can all make memories together.

Fallon said their home will be a place her daughters can always come back to as they grow up and eventually have families of their own.

Stable, affordable housing is a cornerstone for long-term economic progress across generations. Research shows that housing quality, location, and affordability influence access to good schools, safe neighborhoods, job opportunities, and better health.

All of this helps families improve their circumstances over time. Investing in housing not only supports families today but also increases future earnings and well-being for both children and adults.

“This will not only change our lives for the better, but it will also change future generations to come,” Fallon said. “This will be a generational blessing.”

Fallon expressed her sincere gratitude to Walker & Company for donating the time, labor, and materials to build her home, which she closed on in May.

“With the help of Habitat Orlando & Osceola and Walker & Company, I am beyond grateful for this incredible blessing that I can now share with my family,” Fallon said. “Thank you for giving us our forever sweet escape!”
