What drove your organization to get involved with Habitat Orlando & Osceola?
Our organization is highly motivated to give back to the community. It is important to enrich the community as well as giving our employees an opportunity to be part of something bigger in the Orlando area. It is a program that is near and dear to our company.
What is Ravago’s mission when it comes to philanthropy? How does working with Habitat Orlando & Osceola help further that mission?
A pillar of Ravago’s philanthropy is empowering people, our employees, and the communities we serve. Ravago fosters diversity and inclusion, continuous learning, and development as well as a culture of giving back through charitable programs and community engagement. We encourage our employees to participate in volunteer efforts and support initiatives that have a lasting, positive impact on local communities.
What about Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s own mission resonates with you?
Habitat’s mission for community empowerment, advocacy, and educating/counseling resonates with our organization at its core. Our values align very closely as these are important to Ravago, similar to our values of Human Focus, Professionalism, Entrepreneurship and Humility.
We love hosting volunteers from Ravago on our build sites! How has the experience of working on Habitat homes benefited your team members?
Our team members come back from every build with a sense of pride and camaraderie that is inspiring to others. They enjoy being able to go back to these communities and see them grow and flourish and know they had a hand in helping a family, locally. It’s a genuine human focused experience to help paint, do dry wall or hang up blinds for a family that is working side by side with you to complete their own home for a better future.
What would you say to other organizations that are considering donating, volunteering, or partnering with Habitat Orlando & Osceola?
Other organizations should consider being part of the Habitat Orlando & Osceola because there are so many positives and immediate impacts to the community. It fosters a great culture within the organization and brings many people together. By helping to build up the local communities, you’re helping families build their dream, maybe meeting new employees that get to know your company and fostering relationships outside of your industry.
