Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s goal is not only to build new affordable housing, but to help Central Floridians who already own their homes keep them safe, secure and affordable. One of the ways we do this is through our Roof Replacement Program.
We’re now accepting pre-applications for 2026! Spots are limited.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for a roof replacement, you must meet the criteria listed below.
Requirements:
- No mobile or manufactured homes
- Meet income requirements (see chart)
- Must own and live in your home
- Taxes and mortgage are current
- Located in unincorporated Orange County
- Certain specialized roof types may not be eligible
- Maximum assessed value $345,000

Application Process
Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s goal is not only to build new affordable housing, but to help Central Floridians who already own their homes keep them safe, secure and affordable. One of the ways we do this is through our Roof Replacement Program funded by local government.
Step 1
Fill out a pre-screening application.
Click here to complete the pre-screening. If you have an issue completing this step, please reach out to preservation@HabitatOrlando.org.
Step 2
Submit an application.
- If eligible, you will be invited to submit a complete application along with all required documents.
- Note: Your application will only be considered complete when all required documents have been received.
Step 3
We review your application.
- Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
- If you meet the income requirements, you will receive notification from our office that your application has been approved.
Step 4
We inspect your roof.
- A member of our construction team will conduct a pre-inspection using a drone to take aerial pictures of your roof.
- A pre-inspection report will be shared with you, detailing the condition of your roof before the project begins.
Step 5
Orange County reviews your application.
- Your file will be sent to the county for clearance. Note: This step may take several weeks to months.
- Your property will undergo environmental reviews and risk assessments to determine if your property meets the county’s requirements.
Step 6
Sign final documents.
You will review color options for your roof and sign important documents, such as the Notice of
Commencement and Homeowners Agreement, for your roof replacement.
Step 7
Schedule your roof replacement.
The roof contractor will contact you to schedule and confirm the date for the roof replacement.
Step 8
Roof replacement begins.
The roof replacement itself typically takes about 2-3 days.
Step 9
Final inspection
Once the contractor has completed the roof replacement, Habitat Orlando & Osceola and an Orange County representative will perform a final inspection.
Step 10
Homeowner satisfaction!
Congratulations! You have a new roof. A satisfaction document will be sent to you for your signature.
