With “stay at home” orders in effect, home has become more than just shelter. Home may now be your office space, your child’s school, your family’s refuge.
Now more than ever, having access to a safe, affordable home is so important. Being a homeowner provides security in times of crisis.
We want more families to have that opportunity. Join us in our mission to “bring hope home” for local people. Here’s how:
Donate
Our efforts have stalled because of the ongoing public health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19. As our community’s needs increase with the economic fallout of this pandemic, we want to be ready to fill the need for affordable housing, which will strengthen our community.
Your financial gift will help strengthen our response to COVID-19 and its related issues in the weeks and months ahead, helping more families in our community find the hope that a home can bring.
Advocate
Affordable housing in Central Florida was in crisis even before the outbreak of COVID-19. One in three Central Florida families are already cost-burdened, paying more than 30 percent of their income on housing. As schools close and businesses cut hours, many families that Habitat serves will be hit the hardest as they deal with even more financial instability.
Congress is working to create economic relief, and Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County is joining with our fellow Habitat affiliates in driving these relief efforts to support our homeowners and other low-income families financially hurt by the pandemic.
