Builders Blitz 2023
During this annual event, generous local builders donate the time, labor, and materials to build Habitat homes in a matter of weeks that are sold with an affordable mortgage to local families.
Builders Blitz 2024
Local builder and developer Park Square Homes, along with their vendors and partners, donated the labor and materials to build a Fatima’s home in only five days (February 13-17, 2023). This is the ninth Habitat home that Park Square Homes has built since 2015! That’s nine families who will have a safe and affordable home thanks to the family-owned builder.
“We’ve enjoyed every year doing it,” Park Square Homes Co-CEO Suresh Gupta said. “We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish.”
This incredible event brought another special week of community at Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s Silver Pines Pointe neighborhood. This was the fourth and final Blitz Build in our 58-home affordable housing development in Pine Hills, which is slated to be finished later this year.
Closing Ceremony
Park Square Blitz culminated on February 17 with a touching key ceremony, where our builder presented the key to our new homeowner. The homeowner and the builder spoke about what Blitz means to them. Speakers included Catherine Steck McManus, President & CEO of Habitat Orlando & Osceola; Suresh Gupta and Vishaal Gupta, Co-CEOs of Park Square Homes; and new homeowner Fatima.
Meet Our 2023 Homeowner
Fatima
As a chef at an Orlando retirement home, Fatima envisions so many possibilities in her new Habitat home’s kitchen–preparing healthy meals for her two boys, ages 6 and 14, testing recipes for her future catering/food truck business, and assembling hundreds of plates to deliver to homeless people.
“It’s my kitchen . . . my kitchen,” she said in awe. “I’m going to give it so much love and it’s going to give me love back.”
