You may have seen his face on billboards or in social media posts encouraging you to help us Face The Housing Crisis™. Now, we’re happy to show you his face moments after he closed on his Habitat home.

Kenneth, an Orlando high school teacher and single dad, closed on his new home in November and immediately got to work planting fruit trees in the yard.

There’s more time for him to garden now that he’s able to live close to his school, drastically cutting down his previous hour-long-plus commute from Lake County where he lived with his son and parents.

Prior to partnering with Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County, Kenneth struggled to afford an entry-level home in Orlando on his teacher’s salary.

Congratulations, Kenneth! We’re so happy to have partnered with you on your journey to purchasing a safe, stable home in our community. If you are interested in applying to our homeownership program, applications are now open. You can click here to review the criteria and apply.

Through Face the Housing Crisis™, we seek not only to raise awareness about the housing crisis but also to mobilize resources, expertise, and public support to tackle this critical issue head-on. You can read more about the effort and raise your hand to join us here.
